The XXII edition of the World Darts Championship, organized in Cluj-Napoca under the auspices of WDF, has ended. About 500 darts players, from 53 countries around the world, competed in what was the largest profile competition in the world, surpassing the previous record of 41 participants.

Romania was represented by the national group of four players and as many players. For the first time, Romania also had a junior team, consisting of two boys and two girls.

The best results obtained by Romania were in the women's doubles, ranking 17th, managed by the pair of Andreea Brad and Oana Bîrsan and in the men's team, where Romania finished in the group stage, securing all its place 17 in this category.

In the general ranking, Romania ranked 23rd in the men's and 29th in the women's, both out of 53 possible.

The podium of the general classification was made up, in order, of the Netherlands, Wales and England - for men. In the women's, they ended in order. England, Japan and Australia.

The most coveted title, the world champion, was won by Darren Herewini (New Zealand) and Mikuru Suzuki (Japan) in singles, while the best teams were Wales in the men's and England in the women's.
